Corporate & Product Video Editing
Explainers, product video, brand films, internal communications and training. Most of this work depends on whether someone understands it the first time, so the editing is mostly about order and pace.
I've been cutting IT certification courses for Ascend Education since 2021. That's about as unforgiving a test of a clear explanation as there is, because if it doesn't land the student fails an exam.
Where I've done this
Ascend Education, since 2021: dozens of courses and several hundred videos for IT professionals studying for certifications. Flanders, for their 75th anniversary brand film, built from interviews and archival footage and released in an internal and a public version. Woodtone Specialties in British Columbia, for explainers on their remanufacturing process and an employee training video. The American Lung Association, for promotional and internal content including a piece on robotic surgery with Intuitive Surgical. I also supervise post-production for a high-volume video operation, so working to a brand standard on a deadline is the normal condition rather than a special request.

Common questions
- Can you handle a series rather than one video?
- Yes, and it's most of what I do. Keeping forty training videos consistent is a different problem from making one video good, and it's the one I've spent the most time on.
- Do you do the motion graphics, or do I need a separate person?
- I do them. Animated diagrams, callouts, text builds and lower thirds are part of the edit.
- What about audio?
- Also me. Dialogue cleanup, mix and sound design are included rather than subcontracted, so there's no second vendor to schedule around.
- Can you work inside our brand guidelines?
- Yes. Enforcing a brand standard where nothing gets improvised is most of my day job, so a style guide helps rather than gets in the way.
- Do you sign NDAs?
- Yes, routinely. Send yours with the brief.
