Wedding films, events, family and tribute video

Wedding, Event & Personal Video Editing

Wedding highlight films and full ceremony edits, event and conference recaps, tribute and memorial videos, anniversary and milestone pieces.

Some editors treat this as the work you do before you get real work. I don't. A wedding has one take of everything, the audio is usually a mess, and the people watching it care more than any corporate client ever will. It's harder than it looks.

From $500 per wedding film, $250 personal videoVideographers and studios sending regular weddings get quoted per season instead. Tell me roughly how many and I'll price the run.

Where I've done this

This is a real part of the 450+ freelance projects behind me, going back to when I started in 2015. I've also done multicam podcast video and audio for Improper Etiquette and event coverage cut down for social, which is the same problem: several cameras, unrepeatable audio, and one shot at getting it right. Same tools and the same audio post I use on paid corporate work.

  • Multicam sync across ceremony and reception cameras
  • Speech and vow audio cleaned up, including bad lavalier and room echo

Common questions

I only have raw footage from my videographer. Can you work with that?
Yes, and it's common. Send everything as it came off the cards, including the audio recorder files if there are any, and I'll build it from there.
The speeches sound bad. Can they be fixed?
Usually. Room echo, a lavalier rubbing on a jacket, DJ music bleeding into the toasts — all normal and all fixable to a point. Send me a sample and I'll be honest about how far it goes.
Can I choose the music?
Yes. Send the songs you want and I'll cut to them. If it's going on YouTube I'll flag anything likely to get claimed and suggest a licensed alternative.
How long does a wedding take?
Usually a week or two depending on how much footage there is and how many versions you want. Rush is possible, just say so up front.
Do you shoot weddings?
No. I'm a post-production editor and I don't shoot. You or your videographer send the footage and I take it from there.
